WHY THIS ONE

Four things that separate this from an elastic sleeve

A stretchy compression sleeve gives warmth and very little else. This one has a structure, and the structure is the whole point.

Rigid sides, not just fabric
A moulded stabiliser sits either side of the joint. That is what limits the ankle rolling over, and it is exactly what a slip-on sleeve does not have.
Figure-8 straps you set yourself
The straps cross over the top of the foot the way athletic tape does, so you decide how firm it is β€” and you can loosen it in seconds when it is too much.
Open heel and toe
The brace holds the joint without wrapping the whole foot, which keeps it cooler and lets you feel the ground normally.
Slim enough for a trainer
Nylon and thin padding rather than bulk, so a roomy lace-up shoe still closes over it. A support that only fits a slipper stays in a drawer.

HOW TO USE IT

Three steps, and size by foot length

  1. 1

Pick the size by foot length

Stand on a sheet of paper and measure heel to longest toe. S is 8.9 to 9.4 in, M is 9.5 to 10.2 in, L is 10.3 to 11 in. This is foot length, not shoe size.

  2. 2

Slide it on over a thin sock

Sock first, then the brace, with the moulded panels centred over the ankle bones on each side. Get that centring right before you touch the straps.

  3. 3

Cross the straps, then lace your shoe

Pull the straps over the top of the foot and back around, firm but never tight enough to tingle. Put the shoe on last so the laces sit over the brace.

If it has to be uncomfortably tight before it feels supportive, the size is probably wrong rather than the fit. Message us and we will help you check.

IN USE

Where it earns its place

Back on court
Basketball, netball and volleyball β€” the sports where an ankle turns over on somebody else and not on the floor.
Running on uneven ground
Trail, park, broken pavement, or anywhere the ground is not quite where you expected it.
A long day standing
Retail, warehouse, hospitality β€” the shifts that end with the ankle complaining.
In a gym bag
Flat and light, so it lives in the bag rather than being remembered at home.

Before you use it

  • This supports an ankle that is already well, or one a clinician has cleared for activity. It is not a treatment for a new injury β€” a fresh sprain needs assessing before it needs strapping.
  • Never wear it tight enough to numb or tingle the foot. Loosen it at once if toes go cold, pale or numb.
  • Take it off at the end of the day. It is not designed to be slept in.
  • Do not use it over broken skin, an open wound or a rash.
  • If pain, swelling or the ankle giving way keeps coming back, see a healthcare professional rather than strapping over it every day.

This is a support product, not a medical device. It does not treat sprains, tendon problems or any diagnosed condition of the ankle or foot. A new injury, or pain and swelling that keep returning, should be assessed by a healthcare professional.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

Questions people ask

Which size do I need?

Measure your foot from the back of the heel to the end of the longest toe: S 8.9–9.4 in, M 9.5–10.2 in, L 10.3–11.0 in. Shoe sizing varies far too much between brands to order from, which is why the manufacturer publishes foot length instead.

Do I get one brace or two?

Whichever you choose. The listing has a 1-piece option and a 2-piece option, and the 2-piece is a left and a right. The photos showing two braces are the 2-piece option, so check which one is selected before you pay.

Will it fit inside a normal shoe?

A roomy lace-up trainer or work shoe, yes, with the laces a little looser. A tight dress shoe or a slim boot, probably not β€” there is a moulded panel on each side and it takes up room.

Is it for wearing all day?

It is made for the activity, not for the whole day. Put it on for the game, the run or the shift and take it off afterwards. Muscles that never have to work do not get stronger.

Does it prevent sprains?

It limits how far the joint can roll, which is the mechanism it works by. Nothing prevents an ankle injury outright and we are not going to claim that it does.

How does the multi-buy discount work?

It comes off on its own at checkout, with no code to type. Two items anywhere in your basket take 10% off, three take 15%, four take 20%. They do not have to be the same product.

When will it arrive?

Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days and usually arrive within 7–12 business days after that; tracking is emailed as soon as the parcel leaves. If it is not for you, unused items can be returned within 30 days β€” email us first for the return address.
