WHY THIS ONE

What a sound machine fixes that earplugs cannot

Earplugs block everything and fall out by 2 a.m. A sound machine works differently: it raises the noise floor so sudden sounds stop standing out — doors, pipes, the 5 a.m. delivery van.

Masks the spikes
Steady sound smooths over the sudden noises that actually wake you, rather than fighting silence.
Sounds chosen for sleep
White noise and calm ambient options tuned to fade into the background within minutes.
Simple physical controls
Volume and sound selection you can adjust in the dark without opening your eyes properly.
Travels well
Palm-sized — hotel rooms and guest beds get the same sound as home.

HOW TO USE IT

Placement matters more than volume

  1. 1

Place it away from the bed

Across the room works better than beside your ear — the sound should fill the room, not point at you.

  2. 2

Set volume to cover, not compete

Raise it just until the problem noise disappears into the background.

  3. 3

    Keep it consistent

Run it every night; the brain learns the cue and winds down faster.

For babies, follow safe-sleep guidance: keep the machine well away from the cot and at a modest volume.

IN USE

Where it earns its place

Light sleepers
The neighbour’s door and the boiler stop being alarm clocks.
City bedrooms
Traffic flattens into something the brain files as weather.
Nurseries
A familiar, steady cue many parents swear by — at safe distance and volume.
Open offices
Focus sound for one desk instead of headphones all day.

Before you use it

  • Keep volume moderate — the goal is masking, not loudness.
  • In a nursery, place it well away from the cot at low volume.
  • Do not cover the machine while it is running.

A sound machine is a sleep-comfort aid, not a treatment for insomnia or any sleep disorder. If sleep problems persist, speak to a healthcare professional.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

Questions people ask

Will it disturb a partner?

Steady broadband sound tends to help both sleepers — most partners stop noticing it within a few nights, unlike a phone playing rain sounds on loop.

Can it run all night?

Yes, it is designed for continuous overnight use at moderate volume.

White noise or nature sounds?

White noise masks best; softer ambient sounds suit people who find pure noise harsh. Try both for a night each.

How does the multi-buy discount work?

It comes off on its own at checkout, with no code to type. Two items anywhere in your basket take 10% off, three take 15%, four take 20%. They do not have to be the same product.

When will it arrive?

Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days and usually arrive within 7–12 business days after that; tracking is emailed as soon as the parcel leaves. If it is not for you, unused items can be returned within 30 days — email us first for the return address.
